這是2011年NHK拍的紀錄片，裡面有不少未公開的戰爭參與者的談話錄音

這一集看了感觸很深，大家都不想開戰，連東條英機都知道和美國打起來日本一定輸
但被煽起來的輿論讓有權力的大頭都不敢背負賣國的責任，大家都知道一旦退一步
那些腦殘中階軍官的天誅就要來了，每個人都只想把責任推到別人頭上，讓別人擔責
任，到最後關頭只敢拿出一堆假設前提的資料欺騙自己
其中一位軍官的戰後錄音
"假如抱著被暗殺掉兩三個首相也在所不惜的決心 或許就不會這樣了"
但這個民意不就是你們軍人點燃的，現在這個民意只是燒向你們罷了

heheheh...it's like the Spanish American War, media, especially William Randolph Hearst's paper, played a big role in fanning the flame.

Timing is everything. The Spanish American War was at the end of the 19th Century, when the Imperialism was totally acceptable by the world community. It's just not replicable. You had Teddy Roosevelt in the office. The Industrial Revolution was in full swing. You had tycoons like Andrew Carnegie, JP Morgan. The American took on the Panama Canal project some few years ago. It was an exiting period for the American.

Correction: Teddy Roosevelt was the assistant secretary of the Navy at the time of the Spanish American War. McKinley was the President. None the less, he "single handedly won the War" for the American people.
